Cemented carbide is a kind of material sintered with CO as binder, such as WC, WC tic and W-TiC TAC. It was invented by Krupp company of Germany in 1926. Its main body is W-Co system. It has good performance in cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metal and non-metal. From 1929 to 1931, the composite carbide cemented carbides with tic and TAC showed good performance in the cutting of ferrous metals. Therefore, cemented carbide has been very popular. According to ISO standard, cemented carbide blade materials can be divided into three categories: p.m. and IC

(1) The national standard of class k is YG, and the composition is WC + Co. it is suitable for processing color metals, non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials of the genus. The main components are carbonized pigeon (WC) and 3% - 1091, diamond (CC), and sometimes contain low I carbotan and other additives.

(2) Class P national standard is YT class, the composition is WC + TiC. It is suitable for processing long chip ferrous metal. The main ingredients are carbonated drink, tungsten carbide and diamond (or inlay). Sometimes, additives such as coarse carbonization are added

(3) Class m national standard is YW class, the composition is WC + TiC + TAC, which is suitable for processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals with long chip to short chip. Its composition and properties are between class k and class P. it can be used to process key and cast iron. The above is the general classification of cemented carbide used in general cutting tools. In addition, there are also ultramicro puller cemented carbide. It can be regarded as belonging to class K. However, due to the high F content of binder co required in sintering performance, the high-a performance is poor. Most of them are only used in low-speed cutting tools such as drilling and reaming.

The common types of Y cemented carbide tools are: YT --- tungsten cobalt titanium alloy products, YW --- tungsten cobalt titanium tantalum alloy products, YG --- tungsten cobalt cobalt alloy products.
